It's gonna be a pretty solid bike rack, and a good way of getting two bikes on the back of your vehicle. Right away I wanna talk about how this is a frame mounted bike rack so you're gonna want to avoid carbon frames. And you may have some issues with alternative frame bikes because of the way it attaches. With those alternative frames you can fix that problem with an bike adapter bar, which will just go across here and give an attachment point for this hook. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium platform-style bike rack.So today on our Journey, we have the rack that can hold up to a total of two bikes, but if you don't need to carry two, there's a one bike version available as well.Now what really separates this platform-style rack from many of the others is how it's going to secure your bike. It's going to use two-wheel hooks. So one on the back tire and one on the front tire.And it's pretty unique. A lot of the other platform racks only use one wheel hook and usually a small strap or something like that here in the back. So, with two hooks, it's going to do a great job of keeping your bike secure.And because of that design, we're able to do something pretty cool. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 Dodge Journey, we're doing a test-fit of the Thule Double Track Pro Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, that part number is: TH9054.Now, we already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you how we secure it in place. At the back and front tire, we're going to have cam-buckle straps. We'll just push on the cam on the side closest to our vehicle and pull those through. You'll notice we do have extra long straps, these are going to be great for fat tire bikes as wells as mountain bikes and road bikes, like we have here.Now, in the center, we're going to have a clamp. This is going to be different from any of those frame hooks or wheel hooks that you see. This is going to grab around the frame of our bike. more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Dodge Journey- Video
Today on our 2010 Dodge Journey, we're going to be test fitting a Yakima HoldUp 2 bike rack. Now, one of the really nice features of this bike rack is that it does tilt away and gives you access to the hatch without having to remove the bike. Pull out on this knob, and it tilts down. You'll still have plenty of room to get anything in or out of the hatch. Now, to show you how it goes back up, you just lift up on the bike rack until it locks into place. Now, you have two mounting points where it secures the bike to the bike rack. You have a wheel strap back here. more

Thule Hitching-Post-Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Dodge Journey- Video
Today on our 2010 Dodge Journey we're going to be test fitting a Thule Hitching Post Pro for a bike rack. We already have our bike secured to the bike rack and it has three mounting points. One on the vertical post to keep from swaying, and two on the top on the frame. These straps are coated in rubber so you don't have to worry about any scratching or abrasion on your bike. Which undo the straps, and the bike will come right off. Now let's take a quick few measurements and see what kind of dimensions this is going to be adding to our vehicle. more

Today on our 2010 Dodge Journey we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 2.0 2-bike platform rack. Now one of the really nice features about this bike rack is that you can actually tilt it away, without having to take the bike off, and still gain access to the back hatch. You have plenty of room to get anything in or out you need. To put it back into position, you just lift up and it will lock in place. Now to remove the bike you have a wheel strap right here. Just push the button, pull the strap out. Up front, have this bar. more

One great feature of this bike rack is that you have the ability to remove the arms. Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we will be test fitting the Saris Freedom, a platform style 4-bike rack for 2-inch hitches, part #SA4414B. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with a wrench, then secure it with a clip. With our bike rack in this position we have about 11 3/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the Journey is about 8 1/2 inches and overall we have added about 18 1/2 inches to the length of the car. With our rack in this position, you can see we do have full access to our rear hatch. By pulling the gray lever, we can unfold our rack into the loading position. With our bike in this position, we do have about 20 inches of ground clearance, the closest point to the back our Journey is now about 11 1/2 inches and overall we've added about 41 inches to the length of the vehicle. We will now pull the yellow handles at the base of each mast to raise them into their upright position. more

Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 4 1/2 inches away, and we've added about 16 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. Going further out on the shank, here at the angle- up piece of the mast, we have about 16 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 9 inches away and we've added about 18 1/2 inches to the overall length of our Dodge. Now I'll go ahead and lift up on the gray lever at the top of the mast, which will allow us to swing the cradle arms out. With the arms out we've added about 29 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 1-1/2 inches away, and we've added about 11 inches to the overall length of our Dodge Journey. We'll now go ahead and remove the silver pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform down. With the bike rack in this position, we have about 20 inches of ground clearance at the back of the carrier. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 12 inches away, and we've added about 42 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. With the bike rack in this position, you can also see that we can easily access the rear hatch. more

Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Journey- Video
Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we will be test fitting the Swagman Titan, a Tilting 4-Bike Rack for 1 1/4" and 2" hitches Part #S63410 To begin our test fit, we'll side the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinholes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with the wrench. In this position you'll have about 15" of ground clearance, the closest point of the rack to the back of our Journey is about 9 1/2" and over-all we've added about 20 1/2" inches to the length of the vehicle. Pulling the handle at the base of the rack allows us to tilt it away from the vehicle giving us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll pull the handle at the top allowing us to swing out our dual-cradle arms. In this position we've added about 39" to the length of the vehicle. We'll now undo our cradle straps, grab our bike, placing it in to the frame cradles then securing it with the straps. With our bike secure that will complete today's test fit of the Swagman Titan Part# S63410 on our 2014 Dodge Journey. . more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we'll be test fitting the SportRack Super EZ Platform Style Hitch-Mounted 2 Bike Rack, part number SR2901LR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and then tighten it down using a wrench. We'll then secure it with the lock on the other side. With the bike secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. From the shank of the bike rack, we have about 12 inches of ground clearance. From the back of the bike rack, we have about 14-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 11 inches away, and we've added about 27 inches to the overall length of our Dodge Journey. To access the cargo area, we can remove the 3 black pins at the base of the bike rack, which will allow us to fold down the wheel cradles as well as the mast. more

With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 8 inches away, and we've added about 14 inches to the overall length of our Dodge. We'll now go ahead and remove the black pin at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 30 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. To access the cargo area, we can pull the black pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt the mast down. more

Softride Element Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Journey- Video
Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we will be test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram, a Tilting 4 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches. Its part number is SR26248. To begin our test fit, we will slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We will line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and secure it using a wrench. In this position, we have about 12" of ground clearance underneath our bike rack. The closest point to the vehicle is about 5", and overall we've added 14-1/4" to the length of our Journey. Pulling the two pins at the top of the bike rack will allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms. We will want to lock them back in place, using those same pins. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey we will be test fitting the Saris Cycle-On, a platform style 2-bike rack for 2 inch hitches Part Number SA4024. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with a wrench, and secure it with our lock. In this position we have about 11-3/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of our rack to the back of our vehicle is about 10-1/2 inches. Overall we've added about 16-1/2 inches to the length of the Journey. As you can see even with the bike rack in its stored position, we do have full access to our rear hatch. We will pull the pin at the base of the bike rack folding it down into its loading position, and we'll reinsert the pin to secure it. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey we will be test fitting the Saris Axis, a tilting 3-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SA843B. To begin our test fit we will slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinholes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with our wrench, and secure it with the provided lock. In this position we have about 12" of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the vehicle is about 6-1/2". Overall we have added about 15-1/2" to the length of our Journey. Pulling the yellow handle at the base of the Saris Axis allows us to tilt the mast away from our vehicle, giving us full access to our rear hatch. We will now use the yellow levers on top of the rack to extend out our dual cradle arms. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Journey- Video
Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow-n-Go hitch three bike rack, part number HR135. For today's test fit, we'll be using the Hidden Hitch ball mount with super extra long shank, part number 80232. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank and ball mount into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll then go ahead and secure it with the pin and clip, which is sold separately. Now, you'll notice with the bike rack and ball mount secured with just a pin and clip, there is some wobble. You can reduce that by purchasing an anti rattle device found on our website. To load up a bike, we'll remove the black pin at the top of the mast, which is going to allow us to swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we can simply undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, then bring the rubber straps around and secure them. With our bike all loaded up, that will complete today's test spin of the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow-n-Go, part number HR135 on our 2014 Dodge Journey. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Journey well be test fitting the Yakima Stickup two bike hitch-mounted folding bike rack for both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number Y02420. Now with the included adapter already installed on our shank well go ahead and slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. Now that the bolt is tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. At this point we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack is 12 inches, and with the platform up from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is five and a quarter inches. Well now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Journey well be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing four bike carrier, part number TH9027. To begin our test fit, using the included two inch adapter, well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and allow the integrated locking hitch pin to fall into place. We can then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten it down, securing the bike rack to the vehicle. At this point we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack is 12 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle here at the anti-rattle knob is four inches. Well now go ahead and pull the hitch switch here at the top of the mast to bring out the dual arms, where we can then undo the straps to expose our cradles. more
